Bhai Jaita Ji

Rangretta Bhai Jaita daringly took possession of the severed head of Guru Reg Bahadur and carried it all the way to Anandpur Sahib with courage, where Guru Gobind Singh ji complimented him for his audacity. He took him to his bosom and exclaimed 'Rangreta Guru Ka Beta'. 'Rangreta is Guru's son.' After baptism, Bhai Jaita was renamed Jiwan Singh and waged many a battle, fearlessly. At the time when Guru Gobind Singh had to retreat in the face of a sudden Mughal assault, he held back the attack until as the Guru had safetly crossed over to the river Sirsa.
