Coins of the Period of Maharaja Ranjit Singh

Maharaja Ranjit Singh had no coin (currency) after his name. These coins are known as Nanak Shahi coins having Persian inscription which means Kettle (symbolises the means to feed the poor). Sword (symbolises the power to protect the weak and helpless), Victory, an unhesitating patronage obtained from Nanak-Guru Gobind Singh'. These coins were made of copper, silver, and gold. The coins displayed here were minted at Amritsar and released from Sri Akal Takhat Sahib ji.
