Sardar Hari Singh Nalwa was one of the top commanders of the Khalsa forces of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. He conquered Kashmir and brought Kabul under his control. besides being proficient in Persian, Arabic and Punjabi, he was fairly good in English. He lost his life in the battle of Jamraud.
