Massacre at Jallinanwala Bagh (April 13, 1919)

Thousands of Punjabis, assembled on Baisakhi Day at Jallianwala Bagh Amritsar were cought unaware when General Dyer ordered fire at them without warning. Nearly 1500 people were either killed or injured, out of which 347 were Sikhs. The killings at Jallianwala Bagh evoked strong reaction of anger and grief throughout the whole country.
