Mian Mir Ji

Moin-ul-Islam, popularly known as Mian Mir, was a Muslim divine a close friend and admirer of the Gurus, he was a spiritual mentor to Akbar, Jahangir, Shah Jahan, Dara Shikoh, Noor Jahan and the darling of the public. On the request of Guru Arjan Dev ji he laid for foundation of Harimandir Sahib. He urged upon his followers that listless recitation of scriptures was useless. Guru Arjan Dev ji called him 'Sudhir-Gambhir' (sensible and serious) and Mian Mir ji would address Guru Hargobind as Mehboob-e-Ilahi (The beloved of God).
