ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਗੋਲਡਨ ਟੈਂਪਲ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦਾ ਨੀਂਹ ਪੱਥਰ ਸਿੱਖ ਪਰੰਪਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਾਹੌਰ ਦੇ ਸਤਿਕਾਰਯੋਗ ਸੂਫੀ ਸੰਤ ਹਜ਼ਰਤ ਮੀਆਂ ਮੀਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਅਸਾਧਾਰਨ ਕਾਰਜ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਸੀਮਾਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ, ਵਿਸ਼ਵਵਿਆਪੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ, ਨਿਮਰਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਨਤਾ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਸੀ। ਇੱਕ ਮੁਸਲਿਮ ਸੂਫੀ ਸੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਨੀਂਹ ਪੱਥਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਸੱਦਾ ਦੇ ਕੇ, ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਇੱਕ ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੀ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਲਈ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ, ਜਾਤ ਜਾਂ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਦੀ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਕੀਤੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਹੋਵੇ।
ਨੀਂਹ ਪੱਥਰ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਸਿੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਮਾਵੇਸ਼ੀ ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ ਪਰੰਪਰਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਸਬੰਧ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੀ ਧਾਰਮਿਕਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਲਈ ਜਾਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਜ਼ਰਤ ਮੀਆਂ ਮੀਰ, ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਅਰਜਨ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨਾਲ ਡੂੰਘਾ ਆਪਸੀ ਸਤਿਕਾਰ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਬੰਧਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਧਰਮਾਂ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਸਦਭਾਵਨਾ ਦੀ ਉਦਾਹਰਣ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਅਕਾਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਲਈ ਪਿਆਰ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਭੇਦਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਉੱਠਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਬੁੱਝ ਕੇ ਚਾਰੇ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਦੁਆਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੇਪਣ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਨ 'ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਪੰਜ ਪਿਆਰੇ (ਭਾਈ ਦਯਾ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਧਰਮ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਹਿੰਮਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਭਾਈ ਮੋਹਕਮ ਸਿੰਘ, ਅਤੇ ਭਾਈ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਿੰਘ) ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਛੋਕੜਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਆਏ ਸਨ, ਜੋ ਜਾਤ ਜਾਂ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਰੁਤਬੇ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਸਮਾਨਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਏਕਤਾ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਸਿਧਾਂਤ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ। ਇਕੱਠੇ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਪੰਥ ਦਾ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਬਣਾਇਆ, ਸਿੱਖ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਆਦਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੂਰਤੀਮਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ: ਧਾਰਮਿਕਤਾ, ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨ, ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਇਮ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਮੂਹਿਕ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਨੇ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਸੇਵਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਖਰੀ, ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਸਸ਼ਕਤ ਸਿੱਖ ਪਛਾਣ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਹ ਰੱਖੀ।

Janamdin, Bhai Sahib Himmat Singh Ji (1661)
The Janamdin of Bhai Sahib Himmat Singh Ji, born in 1661, is reverently celebrated on January 18th. Bhai Sahib Himmat Singh Ji holds a special place in Sikh history as one of the Panj Pyare—the Five Beloved Ones—who offered their lives to 10th Patshahi, Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji during the historic Vaisakhi of 1699. His courageous response to the Guru’s call for sacrifice exemplified unwavering faith, humility, and total devotion to the Guru’s will, setting a timeless example of selfless surrender and bravery for Sikhs across generations.
