ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤ ਪੁਰਬ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ ੧ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ

ਧੰਨ ਧੰਨ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ, ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ, ਸਦੀਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਚ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਮਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਮਨੁੱਖਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ, ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ, ਕਰਮਕਾਂਡ ਅਤੇ ਅਸਮਾਨਤਾ ਦੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ। ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਾਤਰਾਵਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣਾ (ਰੱਬ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਨਾ), ਕਿਰਤ ਕਰਨੀ (ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰ ਜੀਵਨ) ਅਤੇ ਵੰਡ ਚਕਨਾ (ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕਰਨਾ) ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਫੈਲਾਇਆ। ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆਵਾਂ, ਲੱਖਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਮਰਤਾ, ਸਮਾਨਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗ 'ਤੇ ਚੱਲਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਰਗਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤ ਪੁਰਬ ਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਦਿਨ 1539 ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰਤਾਰਪੁਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਵਿਖੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਭੌਤਿਕ ਰੂਪ ਦੇ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਾਪਸ ਅਭੇਦ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਹੈ। ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਸੱਚਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕਤਾ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਨੀਂਹ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਾਲੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਾਹਿਬਾਨ ਅੱਗੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਤ ਵਜੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ, ਸਗੋਂ ਉਸੇ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਦੀ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਤਾ ਵਜੋਂ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਦੂਜੇ ਗੁਰੂ, ਗੁਰੂ ਅੰਗਦ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਆ, ਸਿੱਖ ਪੰਥ ਦੀ ਅਟੁੱਟ ਅਧਿਆਤਮਿਕ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤ ਪੁਰਬ 'ਤੇ, ਦੁਨੀਆ ਭਰ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਏਕਤਾ, ਦਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਡੂੰਘੇ ਚਿੰਤਨ, ਕੀਰਤਨ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਗਤ ਦਾ ਸਮਾਂ ਹੈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆਵਾਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸੇਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਯਾਦ ਦਾ ਜੀਵਨ ਜਿਉਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਗੁਰੂ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਦਿਵਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਭੌਤਿਕ ਸਰੀਰ ਇਸ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਚਲਾ ਗਿਆ, ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਸਦਾ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਖੋਜੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ, ਸਮਾਨਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪਿਆਰ ਵੱਲ ਸੇਧਿਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

Joti Jot Purab, Patshahi 1st, Sri Guru Nanak Sahib Ji

Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Sahib Ji, the First Patshahi, is the eternal light who illuminated the world with divine wisdom and truth. His life’s mission was to connect humanity with the One Creator, Waheguru, and to free people from the darkness of ignorance, ritualism, and inequality. Through travels across vast lands, Guru Nanak Sahib Ji spread the message of Naam Japna (remembering the Divine), Kirat Karni (honest living), and Vand Chakna (sharing with others). His teachings, preserved in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, continue to guide millions in walking the path of humility, equality, and spiritual discipline.
The sacred day of Joti Jot Purab marks the merging of Guru Nanak Sahib Ji’s physical form back into the eternal divine light, in 1539, at Kartarpur Sahib. Guru Ji established a foundation of truth and spirituality that would be carried forward by the successive Guru Sahiban. This event is not seen as an end, but as a continuation of the same eternal light that passed into the second Guru, Guru Angad Sahib Ji, ensuring the unbroken spiritual guidance of the Sikh Panth.
On Joti Jot Purab, Sikhs around the world remember Guru Nanak Sahib Ji’s eternal message of Oneness, compassion, and justice. It is a time of deep reflection, kirtan, and sangat, where the teachings of Guru Ji inspire us to live lives of service and remembrance of Waheguru. The legacy of Guru Nanak Sahib Ji reminds us that though His physical body left the world, His light remains ever-present, guiding seekers towards truth, equality, and divine love.
